Michael’s warm spirit and kindness touched everyone he met, from his school days at North Florida Christian and Florida High School to his role as a Manuel at CVS Pharmacy. His legacy of love continues through his family and friends, as they gather to celebrate his life and the impact he made on the Tallahassee community.
On March 1, 2025, the community of Tallahassee, Florida, suffered a great loss with the passing of Michael Lee Ratcliff, a cherished husband, father, and friend. At the age of 54, Michael left behind a heartwarming legacy that resonates within the lives of those he touched.
Born on September 18, 1970, Michael spent his formative years in Tallahassee, finding his way through schools like North Florida Christian School, Maranatha Christian School, and Florida High School. His journey through school shaped him into the remarkable person he became, fostering a spirit that would embrace life fully and generously.
Michael dedicated himself to the community through his role as a Manager at CVS Pharmacy in Tallahassee, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and willingness to assist everyone that walked through the pharmacy doors. His colleagues and customers alike cherished his positivity and helpful spirit, which made the workplace feel more like family.
Family was the core of Michael’s existence. He is survived by his loving wife, Marites Idolog Ratcliff, and their four beloved sons: Christian Ratcliff (who is married to Rachel), Aaron Ratcliff, Ethan Ratcliff, and Gabriel Ratcliff. Michael was incredibly proud of his role as a dad, always expressing joy in watching his boys grow and develop into their own characters.
He is also survived by his father, Steve Ratcliff SR (along with Kathi), his mother, Lisa Bartee (with John), a brother, Steve Ratcliff JR (and Anna), and half-siblings Julie Bartee and Jonathan Bartee. Michael’s family was everything to him, and his love for them was evident in every aspect of his life. Sadly, Michael was preceded in death by his sons, Joshua and Seth Ratcliff, a loss that left an indelible mark on his heart.
When he wasn’t busy with work or caring for his family, Michael enjoyed pursuing some hobbies that brought him immense joy. In recent years, he took up the exciting task of restoring a 1995 Ford Mustang, a project that showcased his love for classic cars and his skillful hands. His enthusiasm for life extended to his younger days as well, when he was an avid baseball player with a particular flair for catching. In his teenage years, Michael was also an enthusiastic skateboarder, thriving during a time when iconic skaters like Tony Hawk and Christian Hosoi ruled the ramps.
Michael will be deeply missed in the Tallahassee community, where he had become a beacon of warmth and kindness. Always sporting a bright smile and positive attitude, he was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need, forever leaving friends and family longing for his presence. His spirit, humor, and commitment to family will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew him as irreplaceable.
The memorial service for Michael Lee Ratcliff is set for March 15, 2025, at 10 a.m., taking place at All Saints Anglican Church, located at 3945 North Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32303. Friends, family, and community members are encouraged to join in celebrating Michael’s impactful life and the love he spread during his journey.
