The sun was shining, teams were eager, and FSU was ready to showcase their talents on the field. However, the results were a bit of a mixed bag as they navigated their first day of competition.
Tough Competition Against Ranked Cowgirls
Right out of the gate, FSU faced a tough opponent—the #4 ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls. It was a game that had fans on the edge of their seats as FSU tried to make their mark. Unfortunately, things didn’t start off so well. Despite having runners on base, FSU couldn’t manage to put any points on the board in the first inning. The starting pitcher for FSU, Ashtyn Danley, had a bit of a rough start, allowing two runs in that same inning due to a combination of a double, a walk, wild pitches, and an error.
As the game progressed, Oklahoma State established a 3-0 lead by the end of the second inning, fueled by a home run from their third baseman, Tallen Edwards.
